St. Louis County SAVE was founded in 2015 by a small group of volunteers that wanted to fund heartworm treatment for the dogs at our local shelter. Since then, 1000's of animals have been helped by SAVE and its generous donors, and we have expanded our outreach to assist with more than just heartworm treatment.  We are 100% volunteer run, so that means 100% of your dollars go to help the animals of St. Louis County.

SAVE's primary objectives are to:

1. Ensure that the welfare of the animals and the community is always the FIRST priority in all decisions made regarding the pets of St. Louis County.

2. Advocate for animals in St. Louis County's animal shelter.

3. Increase awareness of St. Louis County residents about pet overpopulation and the current animal welfare crisis, and mobilize them to get involved.

4. Educate policy makers about issues within the shelter and the community and encourage them to take a proactive approach to resolving them.
